How do allergies trigger asthma attacks

In asthma patients, the response to allergens differs from the response of the non-asthma patients by the immune system activating antibodies which cause inflammation of the airways and leads to the creation of mucus. This narrows the airways and results in spasms which causes wheezing and tightening of the chest.
