Asthma is not known to be completely cured, as per the validated research done till date and the symptoms can recur anytime if proper precautions are not taken. But by getting sufficient knowledge about asthma, its causes and treatments and by properly managing the disease, most patients can lead a normal, active life without the fear of recurring asthma attacks.

The medical treatment of asthma usually involves short-acting and long-acting treatment, depending upon the frequency and severity of the disease and its symptoms. The short-acting medications usually involve bronchodilators or inhalers and nebulizers, along with selective bet2 agonists, such as salbutamol. The long-acting medications usually involve inhaled cortico-steroids and oral glucocorticoids for severe cases.
