Bacterial otitis media a vaccine preventable disease

Baterial otitis media (OM) is a very common vaccine-preventable, childhood disease. The most significant causes of OM are multi-factorial, viral and bacterial infections. With the growing incidence of microbial resistance to antibiotics, development of an effective vaccine to prevent the disease is now imperative. To reduce the global incidence of OM, a combination bacterial-viral vaccine formulation is believed to be the best alternative for reducing the incidence of the disease.
