Although both cause bronchial illnesses, few people can distinguish between bacterial and viral bronchitis. However, the two organisms are indeed different, because viruses are weak and cannot survive outside the cells of the human body, as opposed to bacteria that can live and multiply there. What’s more, bacterial bronchitis can and must be treated with antibiotics, while viral bronchitis cannot.
