Bactrim is essentially an oral or intravenously-administered antibiotic. Bactrim otitis media treatment is prescribed for middle ear infections – (acute otitis media) in pediatric patients, – which are caused by susceptible strains of Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus. Although Bactrim is prescribed for treating acute otitis media it is also an effective medication for several other bacterial illnesses viz., chronic bronchitis; urinary tract infections; traveler’s diarrhea; pneumonia and more. It is a potent medication because it can eliminate Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae strains.
