In case of very severe asthma attacks, the patient can turn blue due to lack of oxygen and can experience severe chest pain and even loss of consciousness. The patient’s feet may turn cold and the patient might not respond to standard treatment. Such situations can be life threatening and lead to respiratory arrest and death.
