Barriers asthma control

Experts, attending the annual meeting of Seattle based, ACAAI (American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology) believe there are several barriers to asthma control. Among such barriers are unhealthy lifestyle choices; lack of access to suitable asthma care; genetic discrepancies; delayed diagnosis of asthma; mistrust of the medical industry; culture, and more. Vulnerable populations, without access to high-quality medical care, contribute to the disparities in asthma care. What adds to the disparities is inadequate or insufficient physician monitoring; the large number of uninsured patients, and patients’ poor or limited understanding of asthma management.
