Best places to live have asthma

Some locations in our country have been deemed as “easier” places to live for asthmatics. Four are located in California — Orange County, San Jose, San Diego and Long Beach. All possess fairly mild climates, without any extremes in heat and cold, and have fairly low pollen counts.

  1. The best non-medication treatment for asthma is to learn your triggers and avoid them. Asthma is an allergy. Allergies are triggered by irritants. If its pets, don’t let the pet in the house or at least not in the bedroom. If its smoke, don’t smoke or go places that are smoky. If you are unable to figure out your triggers, you will need prescription medications. Natural remedies just don’t work most of the time. That said, a new study showed that a large amount of fish oil pills each day will help with relieving asthma symptoms. The test subjects were taking 12-15 fish oil pills each day.

  6. Do not swim without meds. An asthma attack can be triggered by a lot of things, such as anxiety, stress, air pollution, and so on. You already know that swimming has triggered and attack, and it is possible that it can trigger another attack, if you work too hard in the pool. You must have an emergency inhaler close by for those situations. Now that you are diagnosed with asthma, it is also recommended that you monitor your own lifestyle, and be aware of when you might be putting yourself in stressful situations. Most often you will be given an inhaler or two, and oral medications may also help.

While these are the primary symptoms of asthma, some people present primarily with coughing, and in severe cases, air motion may be significantly impaired such that no wheezing is heard.

  13. Denver isnt a good place for those with breathing probs because of the altitude and you would have altitude sickness in a minute. I would have to say someplace rural or a city where you could live in the suburbs, but everywhere you go there’s going to be pollution, but your best bet is someplace rural or suburban. Des Moines IA is a nice city to live in. Just do some research for cities that rate high in cleanliness and less polution.

  25. My asthma only kicks in whenever I begin to run or jog, and it always last for the first 15 minutes making breathing difficult. But I refuse to use an inhaler and I push through and keep running even though the air going in to my lungs is tiny. After a while my chest loosens up and my breathing returns to normal. So how is my asthma different to regular asthma?
