Can a child have strep throat and ringworm at the same time

Yes it is possible .We use the term ringworm or tinea when referring to several types of contagious fungal infections of the top layer of the skin and scalp, as well as the nails. We call it ringworm because the itchy, red rash has a ring-like appearance.

Anybody can get strep throat, but it’s most common in school-age kids and teens. These infections occur most often during the school year when big groups of kids and teens are in close quarters.

I think the answer is yes, they can have both at the same time. I’ve done a little research on this and studies show that the body’s immune system is able to fight off up to four different viruses at one time with out shutting down organs. Once you become severely infected, it becomes a medical emergency and you MUST go to the hospital.

A positive throat culture or RADT in association with symptoms establishes a positive diagnosis in those in which the diagnosis is in doubt.[9] Asymptomatic individuals should not be routinely tested with a throat culture or RADT because a certain percentage of the population persistently “carries” the streptococcal bacteria in their throat without any harmful results

It is possible for children to get strep throat and ringworm at the same time. If you notice that your kid hasn’t gotten any better after the third of fourth day then I strongly recommend that you should take him or her to the doctors’ office immediately. You will never know what kind of sickness you child has so that is why seeing a doctor is a good choice.
