Pets or dogs infected with lymphoplasmacytic rhinitis is usually contagious. Since they are mostly caused due to parvovirus or bacterial infection, it becomes contagious for other dogs.

Chronic rhinitis or runny nose can be caused due to an inflammation or infection of the upper respiratory infection. It can become chronic if the patient suffesr from some taruma to nose or skull, or cerebral spinal fluid rhinorrhea.
