They are an enlarged spleen may rupture, which is an emergency that needs surgery. 50% of the patients will have liver inflammation, but only a small number will have significant inflammation, or hepatitis. It can also lead to Encephalitis, Guillain-Barre, syndrome and Bell’s palsy.
