    Mononucleosis is an infectious viral disease. Mononucleosis is known by many names such as: glandular fever, mono, Pfeiffer’s disease and kissing disease. It affects certain blood cells, upper respiratory tract, the lymphatic tissues and lymphatic glands in the neck, groin, armpits, etc. Mononucleosis is a member of the herpes virus family.
